Functional Friday is all about raking, sweeping, picking things up, or trimming… basically when you sometimes have to reach away from you to push or pull an object back towards or away from you.
1.As much as possible, think about bracing your core by engaging your inner abdominals and back erectors.
2. Stabilize your pelvis so either rotate from the thoracic spine, or bend and move your legs to help you square up better.
3. As you reach away from the midline, it is super important to keep the shoulders back in their sockets by retracting and depressing the shoulders to stabilize the joint.
Since we do this motion often start putting a little intent to your movement and thinking about how you can prevent injury and continue getting stronger.
